The Recreation Committee meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM
Minutes: The minutes were not accepted due to a lack of quorum.
Director's Report
Pool/Summer: The expansion project is near completion. Fencing has been removed and replaced. The irrigation system was expanded to include the new area, and the sod has been installed. A snow fence may be necessary to protect the newly sodded area when we open weekends in June, until the sod has a chance to establish itself. Non-Resident passes - A "second chance lotter" will be held May 14 for any passes that remain unsold after the first lottery. Non-resident lottery winners were given until May 10 to purchase passes. I am still accepting names from non-residents to be included in the second lottery. The Recreation Office will stay open on Thursday, May 10th until 7:00pm for pass sales. Registration for the summer programs will be held on Sat., May 12, from 9:00 - noon at the Senior Center for residents. A second
registration is scheduled for residents and non-residents Sun., May 20 from 11:00 - 1:00. Registrations in the Recreation Office will be held May 30 and June 6 from 11-2pm. 46 seasonal staff members for the summer programs have been hired, and I only need 3 or 4 additional people for fill ins or subs for weekends. Interviews are continuing.
Programs: Mountview classes: Red Cross babysitting has 15 participants, and guitar lessons have 6. Adult classes: the final session of Yoga has 9, Cardio-blast has 38 and stained glass art has 8.
Miscellaneous: Jane McNutt, former Recreation Leader, is working on a part-time basis, helping with the registration process of the All Day Program participants.
New Business: The Recreation Committee will hold future meetings on the first Tuesday of every month except for the September 11, 2007 meeting.
The next Recreation Committee meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at the Starbard Building.
